Built in 1892 on a magnificent site on the western shore of Lake Garda, the Villa Feltrinelli may well be the most beautiful and luxurious resort hotel you will ever have the pleasure of visiting. It has thirteen elegantly restored and impeccably updated guestrooms in the main villa, plus additional, individualized rooms in other buildings on its eight-acre park-like grounds. The villa’s public rooms include a dramatic entry hall, a small but well-appointed library, a salon with frescoed ceiling that overlooks the lake, and a dining room with wood burning fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows as well as a large covered pergola that offers al fresco dining in fine weather.
   Although there are several rooms in the villa that we would enjoy staying in, the most beautiful—and the one in which we stayed-- is the Al Lago Suite on the second floor, a large, open and airy room with hand painted ceiling and windowed doors leading to a huge, private terrace that overlooks Lake Garda. The suite also has an octagonal dressing area/bathroom surrounded by wrap-around windows from which one can get yet more views of the lake below.
  This is truly the best of the best!
