Griffin Room
St. Clarens is a small (twelve deluxe
room) country inn located in Galway, Ireland that offers fine food
and service in a pastoral setting. Originally the summer home of
famed Hollywood film director John Huston—in which his daughter,
the actress Angelica Huston, spent her childhood summers—the hotel
is now part of the Merv Griffin chain and has undergone extensive
recent renovations that have not, however, changed its essential
character. The room to book is the Merv Griffin Room, because it
was decorated specifically for him and is where he stays in Ireland:
it is a large corner room with picture windows giving a view of
grazing sheep in the pasture below. |
