The Park Hotel, built in Victorian days as a stop over for railroad passengers, has since been converted into
a luxury hotel offering a relaxed country experience with a up-to-date amenities. And the major “up-to-date”
amenity that the Park Hotel offers is, possibly, the most luxurious spa that one can find anywhere, with a
marveloous outdoor whirlpool large enough to swim in that is literally built into the woods and (because of its
unique overhead roof) can be enjoyed even when it rains, which is not an uncommon event in Ireland. And the
hotel is located at the edge of the picturesque Ring of Kerry on the border of a lovely park with trails you can
easily amble through to reach the tidal waters of the nearby River Shannon. How much more can one want?
The room we recommend is Room 124, pictured here, which is a huge room on the ground floor with multiple windows that overlook the hotel’s formal garden and the river’s estuary. And if the weather is right, one can enjoy the outdoor terrace that the room opens onto at the rear.
