  Located in Knightsbridge just a few blocks from Harrod’s, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel overlooks on one side the bustling Brompton Road and on the other the quiet charm of London’s Hyde Park. The hotel dates from the Victorian age but it was renovated recently and its bar is now the scene where trendy Londoners gather for evening drinks. Its suites that overlook Hyde Park are the places to stay at this hotel. We stayed in Suite 318, a truly magnificent pair of rooms from which one can watch the Queen’s Household Cavalry pass in formation below, resplendent in the royal colors, on their way to and from Buckingham Palace.
